South Africa ‘A’ will be targeting a series victory when they face the West Indies ‘A’ from Tuesday in Bloemfontein in the third and final unofficial Test.

There is weather around in Bloemfontein and it remains to be seen if a full four days of cricket will be possible.

The Proteas Test coach, Shukri Conrad, who is in charge of the SA ‘A’ team, told OFM Sport that players such as Dane Piedt of the Knights are knocking on the door.

“We probably should have been two-nil up in the series given the last hour and a bit in Benoni where we just weren't able to get over the line there, but still very chuffed,” said Conrad.

“But, also in terms of the performances on how it has been on the up and up as the guys are buying into how we want to do things. Dane Piedt has been brilliant from the time that he has come back to the Knights. We all know that this squad has one on New Zealand and that is why I have assembled this squad.

“It's really big for the series in Bloemfontein, and I will be resting a few keys so I can see how some of the other guys go. Also for the guys that have been involved here, it's really good prep for the Test series.”

Play at the Mangaung Oval is scheduled to get underway on Tuesday morning at 10:00.
