The ITEC Knights are set to face the Northern Cape Heat in Bloemfontein next week in the semi-finals of the CSA T20 Challenge.

Yesterday's round-robin game between the two teams in Kimberley was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to a wet square and outfield.

The two points meant that the Knights finished second, while the Limpopo Impalas finished at the top after their 36-run win against the Garden Route Badgers.

The Knights captain, Aubrey Swanepoel, told OFM Sport that they will have to bring their A-game.

“We played against Northern Cape in Bloemfontein in the One-Day Cup and we had a great performance,” said Swanepoel.

“There is nothing more I can ask from the guys - on Thursday we must just play the best cricket from the Knights for the whole season.

“The most important thing is to just stay calm and to relax. It will be another opportunity to go out there and play the best cricket possible by the Knights.”

In Wednesday’s other games, the Limpopo Impalas ensured that they finished at the top of the log by beating the Garden Route Badgers by 36-runs in Polokwane. This will ensure them of a home final in the competition if they make it past the Eastern Cape Iinyathi.

The Iinyathi secured their spot in the semi-finals with a six-wicket win against the Mpumalanga Rhinos at Buffalo Park in East London. This saw them finishing fourth on the log.

For the Knights to have a home final, they will have to beat the Heat, while the Iinyathi must upset the Impalas.

On Wednesday the Impalas and Iinyathi will play in the first semi-final, while the knockout match between the Knights and Heat will be played on Thursday at the Mangaung Oval.
