“The 28-year-old consulted a specialist on arrival in South Africa and is being closely monitored by the Cricket South Africa medical team. His preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA are not expected to be affected.”

The Proteas are sweating over the fitness of their star fast bowler, Kagiso Rabada.

The experienced seamer returned from South Africa from the Indian Premier League because of a lower limb soft tissue infection.

This could put his ICC T20 World Cup campaign in the West Indies and USA in doubt, however, he consulted with a specialist upon his arrival back in South Africa.

At this stage, his preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup is not expected to be affected.

Cricket South Africa confirmed that they expect Rabada to be fit and ready for the World Cup.
