Knights seek to bounce back against Mpumalanga─── MORGAN PIEK 09:13 Wed, 05 Nov 2025
The Knights will be looking to bounce back on Wednesday when they take on the Mpumalanga Rhinos in White River.
Over the weekend, the Knights suffered a shock four-wicket defeat to the Eastern Cape Iinyathi in East London; their first loss of the season in all formats. The Knights were outplayed across the board but remain confident of returning to winning ways.
They were restricted to 110 for 7 in their 20 overs at Buffalo Park, with Border managing to chase down the target with two balls to spare. The Knights are still in a strong position to reach the knockout rounds as they are still second on the table, but the first prize will be to finish in first, as this enhances the chance of a possible home final.

The Rhinos are currently fourth on the log following two wins and three losses in their three games to date. All-rounder Ruan Haasbroek told OFM Sport that it’s important for the team to respond with a win and build momentum.
“It was a tough loss; we were completely outplayed on the day, unfortunately,” said Haasbroek.
“But there were a lot of positive learnings from it, positive chats happening between the guys, and I think everyone is eager to bounce back in this game.
“I think it’ll be key to turn the tide and get momentum back on our side again, especially with this being our last away game before Eastern Storm awaits us when we return to Bloem.
“We definitely take some positives out of it, and we’ve got to show some character coming to Mpumalanga after a long trip. Our boys are eager and excited to bounce back and fix all the mistakes we made.
“It’s going to be a tough game; Mpumalanga has been playing good cricket, but the boys are ready and keen to get the ball rolling and throw some punches.

“I think the key will be to assess the conditions as quickly as possible, being an away game. Throwing that first punch early on will be crucial. We’re going to aim for a big win to get momentum back on our side.
“I’m excited for another challenge and the opportunity to play another game of cricket with a great bunch of guys. I’m looking forward to seeing the character from the boys and how we bounce back.”
Play at Uplands College in White River is scheduled to start at 13:00.
