The 30-year-old South African golfer, Dylan Frittelli, is delighted following a career-low of 62 during the final round of the RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour.

Frittelli sunk birdies on six of the last eight holes to shoot a bogey-free round of 9-under to grab the early clubhouse lead in South Carolina.

This was however not enough to stop a rampant Webb Simpson, who won the tournament with 22 under par.

Frittelli said he was happy with his score, but knew it would not be enough.

“I was just trying to stay out there and keep playing and get all the good golf out of me, squeeze it out at the end.

“That was just a nice, consistent round. I struck the ball like I did the first round and luckily I converted some putts.

“I'm happy with my play and that's all that matters.”

This week the tour heads to Connecticut for Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands, with the opening round on Thursday.
