Burmester looks forward to playing at home again─── MORGAN PIEK 15:53 Mon, 26 Oct 2020
Pro golfer, Dean Burmester, is on his way back home following his top 10 finish at the Italian Open on the European Tour over the weekend.
Burmester, who has enjoyed a good run in Europe, will be enjoying a couple of weeks off in George before taking to the tee again from 19 November at the co-sanctioned Joburg Open at the Randpark Golf Club.
The 31-year-old told OFM Sport that he looks forward to finishing the season at home.
“I’m looking forward to playing at home again.
“The upcoming SA Open at the Gary Player Country Club, I think that it is very fitting for the second oldest Open in the world to be played on a course with such prestige.
“I am looking forward to all three events. In Joburg, the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek is always a special event, and then the SA Open.
“It is just sad we won’t have any home fans in attendance. But, if we get through these times then hopefully next year these tournaments will be bigger and better next year and then we will have fans at home.”
Over the weekend Burmester finished in a share of 5th on 17-under-par at the Italian Open.
