South Africa’s leading golfer, Louis Oosthuizen, is ready to get his 2021/22 PGA Tour season underway when he tees it up at the Shrinders Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas.

The world number eight has taken some time off following an outstanding 20/21 season where his was unlucky not to chalk up a win of several occasions.

The 2010 Open champions said he is not dwelling on last seasons near misses.

“Not really. I think it was more just after the events that sort of you think what could have been and you try and shake it off really quickly because there was always the next one coming, the next event.

“But, yeah, it could have been a really good season, but my whole goal always is to try and get my game in a good spot when it gets to majors and try and give myself a chance playing back nine of a major championship and see if I can do something.

“And I've done that pretty well last year and it's now just getting that next step by winning a championship.”

The other South Africans playing at TPC Summerlin this week are Charl Schwartzel, Dylan Frittelli, Garrick Higgo and Erik van Rooyen.
