Golf in Bloemfontein will be set for a major boost in March with international golf making a turn in the City of Roses.
It has been confirmed that the Mangaung Open will be contested in Bloemfontein.
The new event on the calendar is co-sanctioned by both the Sunshine and European Challenge Tours.
The tournament will be launched next week and it will be played at the neighbouring Bloemfontein and Schoeman Park Golf Clubs.
Defending Dimension Data Pro-Am champion and Bloemfonteiner, Wilco Nienaber, told OFM Sport it will be great.
“I'm really excited and it's actually too cool to have an event where I can sleep at home for the first time.
“I'm just looking forward to get to play again and to play in front of the people at home should be pretty cool.
“I think it should be a pretty cool week.”
The Mangaung Open is scheduled to be played from 3 to 6 March.
