The Alfred Dunhill Championship will be concluded on Monday after rain washed out the final day at Leopard Creek on Sunday.

The players were called off the course at 11:12 because of a large storm. Play officially resumed at 16:00, but 45 minutes later it was suspended again.

The two good friends and former major winners, Charl Schwartzel and Louis Oosthuizen are tied in the lead on 16-under-par through seven holes.

Before the final round, Oosthuizen said a win at Leopard Creek has been a bucket list item for a long time.

“It would mean a lot. It’s the one event I’ve really wanted on my CV and I’ve come close a few times. I think I’ve got a good shot at it now,” he said.

“You know, this golf course can bite you and I’ve been on the bad side of this course a few times. There are certain holes where you can’t back down and you just need to make a good swing – I stuck with that today and didn’t back off on tough shots.

“It was pretty cool to tie the course record. The golf course is in such good shape that you feel like you have to play well because it’s such a beautiful setting,”

Play at Leopard Creek is scheduled to resume at 9:00.
