Stinger GC looking for podium in Dallas─── 11:35 Thu, 26 Jun 2025

Stinger GC have touched down in Texas for LIV Golf Dallas, ready to build on a solid but unsatisfying finish in Virginia and chase their first podium of the season.
With five regular-season events remaining, the South African quartet is poised for a big push, starting this week at Maridoe Golf Club from 27–29 June.
After returning from injury, Branden Grace posted a promising T19 finish in Virginia and has plenty to be upbeat about heading into this week. “It was nice to be back. There were a lot of uncertainties after Korea, but I got the green light to play and felt a big improvement,” Grace shared.

“I managed to play some nice golf, got into the points, and while you always want to be a few shots better, it was just good to be part of the team again and feel like I was playing well.” Led by Louis Oosthuizen, Stinger GC has had a string of competitive outings, and according to Grace, they’re due for a breakthrough.
“The guys are in good spirits. We’re playing well, and we’re trending in the right direction,” he said. “We’ve had a lot of finishes around 5th, 6th, 7th, those are just one low round away from a win.
“I feel like it’s coming. We’ve got five events left, and hopefully we can sneak one of these last ones.”
Significant week for South Africa
This week’s Dallas course is a fan and player favourite, and the Stingers have done their homework.
“The golf course this week is fantastic. You’ve got to commit to every shot; it’s one of those tracks that demands your full attention. Hopefully, it brings the best out of us,” Grace added.
Off the course, Grace reflected on the significance of this week, also marking 30 years since South Africa won the 1995 Rugby World Cup, a sporting moment that captured the imagination of a nation.
‘That win really put South Africa on the map in sport’
“That win really put South Africa on the map in sport,” he said. “There’s so much history and meaning behind it. I remember watching it, I was really young, and we were in Boksburg having a spit braai.
“Everyone got so excited, had a few too many, and the spit ended up getting burnt. I mean, I don’t even know how you burn a spit, but it happened that day. For good reason, of course!”
LIV Golf Dallas takes place from 27 to 29 June 2025 at Maridoe Golf Club, the final U.S. stop before the LIV Golf League heads into its European stretch.
