Cop's son (12) to appear for attempted murder─── 07:55 Mon, 05 Jan 2015

Johannesburg - A 12-year-old is expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate's Court on Monday on a charge of attempted murder, Gauteng police said.
"A case of attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearm was opened against the boy and [he] was arrested," said Sergeant Phora Nkuna.
The boy, who is the son of a warrant officer stationed at Jabulani, allegedly shot the 15-year-old girl in his room on Friday, he said.
The firearm used in the shooting allegedly belonged to a parolee from the Boksburg prison.
The parolee reportedly used to visit the boy's cousin who used to live with them.
"The boy said he was moving the firearm and the girl grabbed it and they started to pull the firearm... and a shot went off."
The girl was shot in her stomach and taken to the Natalspruit hospital.
"The girl is serious but in a stable condition," he said.
