On Sunday he became the first South African to win a MotoGP event in the elite class when he stormed to a convincing victory during the Czech Grand Prix.

Binder, who celebrates his 25th birthday on Tuesday, says the Red Bull Ring is a happy hunting ground for him.

“Austria is a track I love, and I’ve always gone well there in the past,” said the Red Bull KTM rider.

“It’s the home Grand Prix for Red Bull and KTM, and it’s going to be awesome.

“It’s is going to be tough to follow up this one, but I think let’s just enjoy this one and then we will worry about that when Friday comes.

“To think that we won on Sunday is something that is not going to set-in for a while.

“I just want to take things one day at a time. It’s the way I’ve always approached every race, and it’s the way I want to keep things.”

Sunday’s Austrian Grand Prix will start at 14:00.
