The 25-year-old rookie who won the Czech Grand Prix, is currently fourth in the standings, in what is just his first season in the elite class.

The Potchefstroom-born KTM rider tested his bike in Misano earlier in the year, and he wants to bank on the experience.

“I expect it to be quite good.

“When I tested here earlier in the year, it was the first time riding again after almost three months off, and it was a little bit challenging for sure.

“But it was great, it was really nice to get back on the bike and I enjoyed riding here.

“The bike worked great and everything else work well.

“I expect it to be a great weekend.”

Sunday’s San Marino Grand Prix will get underway at 14:00.
