It is the first time the Proteas will be playing netball at international level since January, and the hosts couldn’t have asked for a better team to play against than the Queens.

The Proteas team is somewhat new-looking and most of the players were selected during the recent Telkom Netball League in Bloemfontein.

Proteas skipper, Bongi Msomi, says that playing against Malawi is always a big challenge.

“We have some young uncapped players who are coming into the team and this is the perfect opportunity for us to see what they can do,” said Msomi.

“The mood in the camp is great. We are all very excited to be playing against one of the top teams in Africa and the world.”

The first Test at the Superbowl gets underway at 19:00 on Thursday evening.
