The three-time champions are out to break the successful streak of the Jaguars who have won the tournament for the last four years.

First the Crinums will be up against the Stings from the Western Cape.

The Crinums vice-captain, Bianca de Wee, told OFM Sport that they are ready and confident.

“We are really excited to play and showcase netball and it's definitely a case of us want to start off with a bang.

“We are confident with all the hours of training that we have put in and we have a wonderful management and leadership that will contribute to us having a successful season in the Telkom Netball League.”

In Wednesday’s two games before the opening ceremony the Jaguars beat the Kingdom Stars 50-35 and the Eastern Cape Aloes beat the Kingdom Queens 40-38.

The Crinums face the Stings at 10:00 on Thursday morning. Meanwhile, at 14:00 the North West Flames face the Fireballs and at 16:00 the Northern Cape Diamonds face the Sunbirds in Division 2.
