There will be high quality junior racing taking place in the junior category while strong and competitive racing is expected with the men’s and women’s elite.

A very strong international field has entered for both the men’s and women’s races while several of the country’s top triathletes will also be in action.

The Commonwealth Games triathlete and defending women’s champions, Williams, told OFM Sport that she’s ready to get her season underway.

“I'm extremely excited to come to Bloemfontein and compete in the Africa Triathlon Cup,” said the defending champion.

“It will be my first race of the season and it will be an early tester to see where my fitness is.

“Unfortunately, towards the end of the season last year I struggled with illness and was unable to finish my season as I planned.

“Maselspoort is great to race at and I'm very excited to be back there this year.”

The men's elite will get underway at 12:30 on Sunday at Maselspoort while the women’s elite race starts at 12:45.
