There was a strong wind in the morning that also made for some interesting racing, but that hardly had an effect on the afternoon racing as the international triathletes asserted their dominance.

Beisenbayev won the men's elite race in a time of 55:28 after taking the lead in the 5 km run, which he completed in 15:38.

Bob Haller of Luxembourg finished in second, just nine seconds off the pace to claim the silver, while James Edgar of Ireland rounded off the podium.

Dylan Nortjé was the first South African to cross the finish line in the men's elite in a time of 56:36.

Barbara de Koning of the Netherlands led from start to finish to win the women's elite race in 1:03:05. The 2022 champion, Shanae Williams of South Africa, took the silver medal 28 seconds later, while Tanja Stroschneider of Austria finished in third.

The local triathlete, Jayme-Sue Vermaas, finished in 11th place overall in a time of 1:09:57.

In the Africa Triathlon Junior Cup, Alessandro Fanicchi won the junior men's race in a time of 1:06:32 to beat fellow South African, Francois de Villiers, who took silver in a 1:07:29. Nathan Foster made it a full podium for South Africa by taking the bronze in a time of 1:08:47.

It was also a full podium for South Africa in the junior women's race, with Kadence Ribbink clinching the title in 1:11:34. She had a comfortable win, with Lomé Gouws taking the silver medal in 1:14:58, and Mikhaela De Oliveira finishing in third in a time of 1:15:51.
