The Dutch two-time World Champion once again led from start to finish with a commanding 24.09 second win over Lewis Hamilton.

Verstappen was dominant during qualifying and this set up what was a near perfect Sunday, despite being in a bit of hot water for breaching the track limits on three occasions.

Hamilton's Mercedes teammate George Russell held off a late surge by Sergio Perez to complete the podium.

For once this season Ferando Alonso did reach the podium and he had to settle for 7th.

Following his win Verstappen said maintaining their momentum will be important.

“It’s a big pleasure to drive with a car like this,” said race winner Verstappen.

“A win here, it’s incredible. It was a strong weekend from myself, from the team. “Hopefully we can keep this up.”

The next stop is the Canadian Grand Prix on 18 June.
