“I could get comfortable, I could push and get past Max which was the main thing and just go from there. Honestly quite a straightforward race, still tough but very enjoyable.”
The McLaren driver Lando Norris claimed a full house of points on Sunday by winning the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort.
The young British driver took the checkered flag in 1:30:45.519 to end Max Verstappen and Red Bull’s dominance of the race. In doing so, Norris also clocked the fastest lap of the race to earn 26 points in the Netherlands.
Verstappen, who had won all three of the previous Dutch Grand Prixes finished in second in 22.896 seconds off the pace, while Charles Leclerc of Ferrari rounded off the podium. Following his win, Norris said it was great to be on the top-step of the podium as his previous win came during the Miami Grand Prix.

‘Red Bulls still leads the constructor’s championship standings’
Verstappen still leads the driver’s championship standings with 295 points, however, Norris is slowly but surely putting pressure on his title defence. Norris has moved up to 225 points, however, he is starting to get some pressure from Leclerc who is now on 192 points.
Red Bulls still leads the constructor’s championship standings on 434 points, but through consistent performances by both Norris and Piastri, McLaren is inching closer to the lead. Following Zandvoort, McLaren is on 404 points.
This week the circuit heads to Monza for the Italian Grand Prix.
