The persisting power failure in some parts of Bloemfontein should be resolved by Sunday afternoon.
This is according to the DA's Ward 23 councillor Tjaart van der Walt after a power failure occurred about 19:00 Saturday night.
"According to Centlec workers there are two cable faults. One is a main feeder cable to John Knox that has blown. This will take a long time to replace as it involves work inside the substation.
"There is a ring feeder cable on the other side of Meditas Spar that should be able to replace this cable during such a problem, but this cable also has a cable fault.
"Centlec workers assures me that this cable will be joined by 4pm today, if all goes well. This will restore electricity, until the bigger cable fault in Parkwest has been attended to.
"Centlec is on both sites in numbers.
"Please treat all wires as live."
