Free State Government takes the lead | News Article

President Cyril Ramaphosa applauded the Free State province for taking the lead by becoming the first to roll out tablets to schools.

The president handed over tablets to Grade 10 learners from the Thahameso Secondary School in Phuthaditjhaba yesterday (06 April 2019).

The roll-out of devices - called Omang - were made possible by the CLN's (Closed-Loop Learning Network) Education Fund. The project was powered by OFM and other corporate partners : MTN, Huawei, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Shuter and Shooter, Jendamark and WIZZAIR Technologies. The devices are pre- loaded with electronic textbooks.

Ramaphosa assured the public that they are going to fast track this initiative and involve more schools in the province.

This school was the first to receive tablets since the official announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa in his State of the Nation Address.
