Over the weekend the Cheetahs recorded a fourth straight win in the Pro14 for the first time when they beat the Southern Kings 40-36 in Bloemfontein.

This week they will be training, and this will be in preparation for their tour to Europe which will see them facing Connacht, Scarlets and Leinster.

The Cheetahs captain, Shaun Venter, told OFM Sport that this time around they are looking forward to touring.

“Four wins in a row is a massive confidence booster for us.

“We’ve got quite a lot of work to do in the week before we go on tour. There were a lot of errors during the second half of the match and we need to sort that out.

“The weekend off will be very good for the guys, and unlike the previous tours in this campaign, we are actually excited to go to Europe again.”

The last time the Cheetahs have Connacht was in Bloemfontein on 1 December when the team from the western province in Ireland won 21-17. On the only previous occasion the two teams met at the Sportsground in Galway, Connacht beat the Cheetahs 23-18 in November 2017.

The Cheetahs tackle Connacht next week Saturday in Galway, with kick-off at 19:30.
