#BreakingNews: Dyantyi's B sample tests positive─── MORGAN PIEK 10:33 Fri, 30 Aug 2019
The Springbok and Lions winger Aphiwe Dyantyi’s B sample has confirmed traces of three banned substances.
Over the weekend the news broke that the speedster has tested positive for the use of a banned substance.
His B sample has now confirmed traces of methandienone and methyltestosterone LGD-4033.
He has now been formally charged for the use of anabolic steroids.
Dyantyi now faces a minimum ban of two years from the sport and a maximum of four years.
The player was not considered to compete in the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, which starts next month, as he is still recovering from an injury.
Dyantyi has the right to contest the charge and plead not guilty. If he does this, a hearing will be set within the next four weeks and he will be required to provide evidence which could prove his innocence.
