The Harmison of Hammanskraal, Alfred Mothoa, is ready to begin the next chapter of his cricketing career when he links up with the VKB Knights.
Mothoa joins the exciting new-look Knights seam attack after plying his trade at the Titans and Northerns.
The seam attack assembled by the new head coach, Allan Donald, includes the established Gerald Coetzee as well as the left-arm quick Duan Jansen and the former Lions seamer, Migael Pretorius.
At 30-years-old Mothoa will be the senior man in the attack along with win Mbulelo Budaza.
Mothoa, told OFM Sport that it was a very easy decision to trade Pretoria for Bloemfontein.
“Quite excited to be moving to the Knights. I am sure I am going to learn a lot from Allan Donald, he has done it over throughout his career.
“I didn’t even think twice about moving to Bloem. New challenges, new environment, new coach, and new teammates.
“I’ve played with some of the guys over the years at the Titans before they moved away.
“It’s really quite exciting.
“I’ve seen some of the young fast bowlers at the Knights and I’ve played against some of them. It’s something special really, I can’t wait.”
Mothoa is known as Harmison seeing that his bowling action resembles that of the English great, Steve Harmison.
