The Toyota Cheetahs have bid farewell to several of their players who have either signed with other teams or called it a day.

The players whose contracts ended in the week are Joseph Dweba, Rabz Maxwane, and Sintu Manjezi.

Dweba will be heading to Bordeaux in France, Maxwane will join the Lions and Manjezi has linked up with the Bulls.

Gerhard Olivier and Justin Basson have been forced to retire through injury, while Louis Fouché has hung up his boots to start a business. Olivier sustained a neck injury, while the lock Basson never fully recovered from a serious knee injury.

The scrumhalf, Dian Badenhorst's contract at the Cheetahs expired.

Coach Hawies Fourie thanked all of the above players of their service and wished them well.

“We wish all our departing players all the best for the future.

"I would like to thank them for their contributions both on and off the field.”

A couple of more players will be leaving the team when their contracts finish on 31 October.
