Speckies happy to be back in Bloem─── MORGAN PIEK 09:08 Thu, 16 Jul 2020
The Springbok Sevens speedster, Rosko Specman, is all too glad to back at the Toyota Cheetahs after a spell at the Bulls in Pretoria.
Specman’s contact at the Cheetahs started at the beginning of July and he recently arrived in Bloemfontein.
The Olympic bronze medallist previously played in the Currie Cup and Guinness PRO14 for the Free State and Cheetahs before heading to the Jacaranda City.
Specman told OFM Sport that despite the freezing weather, he is happy to be back.
“I am glad to be in Bloemfontein even if it is so cold,” said the x-factor player. “The guys here welcomed me with a warm heart, and the coach is also happy for me to be here.
“I am just looking forward to playing for the Cheetahs again because I know what type of game plan they play. It’s an expansive game plan and there is good competition here in the team, so it’s going to require hard work from my side and I look forward to that.
“At the end of the day, I just want to make sure that the team is doing well. If the team is doing well, then I will enjoy my game as well.”
Specman is at the Cheetahs on a two-year contract, and this deal will see him being made available to play for the Blitzboks in the Dubai and Cape Town Sevens, as well as the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Meanwhile, it is believed that rugby finally has the green-light to resume with team training, and the franchises and union will take to the training field as from Monday.
