Pakistan remains in control after day two─── 10:07 Fri, 07 Aug 2020
Pakistan has taken a commanding position after day two of the 1st Test against England in Manchester.
The day started well for the hosts when they picked up the wicket of in-form batsman Babar Azam early in the morning.
However, opening batsmen, Shan Masood, who was dropped by Jos Butler on day one, went on to score 156 for his third successive test innings 100, as Pakistan was eventually bowled out for 326.
England’s reply got off to the worst possible start as the hosts slumped to 12 for 3 inside the first 6 overs, with the in-form Ben Stokes removed for a duck.
It got worse for the hosts when skipper Joe Root was dismissed in the 20th over.
At stumps, England was 92/4 and will start day thee with Ollie Pope and Jos Butler on 46* and 15* respectively.
Play at Old Trafford is expected to get underway at noon.
