Fortuin settling in at the Cheetahs─── MORGAN PIEK 09:44 Thu, 13 Aug 2020
The former University of Stellenbosch Maties flyhalf, Reinhardt Fortuin, has welcomed the extended squad training at the Toyota Cheetahs.
As of Monday, the eight franchises across South Africa increased their training squad following the announcement that matches have been given the green-light.
While the teams are still not allowed to participate in contact training, they should be able to as of next week.
Fortuin told OFM Sport that the players have welcomed been able to interact with each other a lot more.
“I must say that training in a group of more than five players is really nice.
“It’s good to be able to meet up with the forwards, and the training has been going really well.
“We haven’t started with the contact training yet, but hopefully will we be able to as of next week.
“The time here in the Free State has been good to me so far. I’ve met a bunch of nice people and played a lot of golf with my new teammates, so it’s been really good.”
The 2020 Currie Cup is set to start by mid-September if all goes well.
