The talk at the moment his that a Super Hero day will be played on 26 September between the four Super Rugby franchises with the Bulls tackling the Sharks, and the Lions facing the Stormers. This double-header is set for Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

The Currie Cup is expected to kick off in early October and it will be a double-round competition spanning until mid-January.

The coach of the defending Currie Cup champions, Hawies Fourie, told OFM Sport that they are planning to face the Peacock Blues.

“We will definitely organise a friendly match between ourselves and the Griquas.

“I’ve spoken to Scott Mathie already and he is also keen.

“We are busy finalising the date for that game, but we will probably play them on the 26th of September.

“We just want confirmation of all the fixtures and so on, and if that is in order we will be playing against the Griquas.”

This planned match will more than likely be played at Tafel Lager Park in Kimberley.
