A convoy will be travelling around Bloemfontein as they make their voices heard in support of the defending Currie Cup champions.

On Tuesday, SA Rugby’s member unions will be voting for the future of the South African franchises.

SA Rugby wants to reduce the franchises to four, and the Cheetahs are in the firing line.

The Cheetahs club captain, Tian Meyer, told OFM Sport that the Cheetahs have a rich history and the fans of the team are now needed more than ever.

“The Cheetahs will all be pulling in, all dressed in orange and getting behind the Cheetah brand.

“You know, there is a lot of history and obviously the voting and important decisions will be coming up soon.

“Just all of the support and everyone pulling together would really be appreciated.

“If you can wear orange, make a noise for the Cheetahs and keep everything positive.”

As things stand, the Bulls, Lions, Sharks, and Stormers are set to swap their participation in the Super Rugby for an expanded Guinness PRO16.

In 2017, the Cheetahs and the Southern Kings were kicked out of Super Rugby when the teams were reduced from 18 to 15.

Should things not go the way of the Cheetahs on Tuesday, it is believed that the franchise will head to court.
