Blommetjies set for 100th Cheetahs game─── MORGAN PIEK 13:34 Wed, 14 Oct 2020
The Toyota Cheetahs have named an unchanged starting XV for Friday’s Super Rugby Unlocked clash against the Bulls in Bloemfontein.
For the fullback, Clayton Blommetjies, it will be the 100th time he makes an appearance in a Cheetahs jersey.
The assistant coach, Corniel van Zyl, told OFM Sport that he looks forward to seeing the two-time Currie Cup winner perform against his former team.
“Clayton has had his ups and downs over the years. He has grown into a very talented player and he has matured so much.
“If you look at the ball carries he makes every week, most of the time he is the top ball-carrier. He gets involved and I think that this week it will be a special occasion for him.
“I'm just looking forward to seeing how he can perform and play well.”
Last week the Cheetahs hammered the Pumas 53-31 while the Bulls in their turn were made to work hard for a 30-23 win over the Griquas at Loftus Versfeld.
Friday evening's game between the Cheetahs and the Bulls at the Toyota Stadium kicks off at 19:00.
