The Toyota Cheetahs are expected to make changes to their team for Friday’s SuperRugby Unlocked match against the Sharks in Durban.

A minimum of three changes is expected to the starting XV following the departure of Benhard Janse van Rensburg, Walt Steenkamp and Jasper Wiese.

The Springbok flank, Oupa Mohoje, could make his long-awaited return to the field following an absence of two years due to injury.

Hawies Fourie will name his team at 12:00 on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Fourie, told OFM Sport that their two-week break away from the field served as more of a disruption than anything else.

“It's a short week and we've got to get back on the bike quickly otherwise we will be exposed on Friday.

“The Sharks are improving. They played a lot better against the Pumas than the previous week against the Bulls.

“The setpiece went a lot better for them and if they have possession they are a very dangerous team.

“We had two very good training sessions last week on Monday and Tuesday then the players had a bit of a rest.

“It was probably not necessary because we didn’t play against the Lions the previous week and not playing for two weeks in a row is a bit of a disruption.

“It's not ideal but we've got to get over it and prepare well.

“We need to be sharp and at our best to be able to compete with the Sharks. Then we will have to deal with the humidity.

“We are not sure what to expect. We don't know if it's bad already or if it's playable. We will see when we get there on Friday morning.”

Friday’s evening’s game at the Shark Tank kicks off at 17:00.
