Tinus de Beer will be starting at flyhalf ahead of George Whitehead who moves to the bench, while the scrumhalf, Zak Burger, takes over the captaincy.

Eduan Keyter, moves to outside centre, with Bjorn Basson slotting in on the left wing.

The seasoned Johnathan Francke starts at inside centre, and Ederies Arendse plays in his 100th game for the Griquas.

Griquas coach, Scott Mathie, told OFM Sport any time they play a team like the Stormers its’ a big occasion.

“Firstly, on Ederies, it’s a massive occasion for him. There are only a few players who have been able to put on 100 caps for their province, so were are really proud of him. He is looking forward to it. He has been a great servant of the Griquas, so he fully deserves that.

“There are a few changes to the backline through injury. André Swarts got injured against the Lions, so Jonny Francke gets a start. He has been training hard and he is ready for that.

“Then there is a bit of squad rotation. Tinus has been really well and needs to get some time. George has played 80 minutes in four games so far and he will defiantly make an impact for us from the bench.

“Zak who is a part of the leadership group will just step into that captaincy role.

“We’re looking forward to this game. It is really important and I thank that both teams will be pretty desperate.

“It’s just an exciting opportunity for us to play here at home again, against a Springbok-laden Stormers team is always a great challenge, so we are looking forward to it.”
