Wegner takes over the captaincy of the team as Junior Pokomela will not be playing on Saturday due to a recurring wrist injury.

Aidon Davis will replace Pokomela in die stating XV, while Chris Massyn comes onto the bench.

OFM Sport understands that Pokomela may have to undergo surgery to rectify the damage and this could see him missing out on the Currie Cup, and at least several games in the tournament.

Over the past two weeks the Cheetahs battled with their lineouts, but the coach Hawies Fourie, told OFM Sport that he is certain that have sorted their set-piece out.

“The Griquas will definitely put a lot of pressure on our lineouts.

“Corniel van Zyl spent a lot of time with our forwards and we are happy with our lineouts and the execution in training was good.

“We are happy with where we are with that.

“The lineout contesting is something that we have done well. We normally get three or four turnovers per game.

“Aidon is a really good lineout jumper as well.”
