Griquas hit the reset button─── MORGAN PIEK 16:19 Tue, 24 Nov 2020
The Tafel Lager Griquas have hit the reset button with the Carling Currie Cup kicking off this weekend.
The Peacock Blues were unable to secure a single victory in the SuperRugby Unlocked series, but they did manage to push some teams really hard in the tournament.
The Griquas welcome the fact that they will kick off their Currie Cup campaign at home and they feel that this time of the year it will be even harder for the visiting teams.
Griquas flyhalf, Tinus de Beer, told OFM Sport that the Currie Cup is an opportunity to set the record straight.
“We are really looking forward to the battle that awaits Saturday afternoon.
“We have underperformed in the SuperRugby Unlocked and we are really disappointed with the end result.
“But as a group, we have recalibrated and pushed the reset button in our minds for the start of the new competition.
“We see it as a new competition, new challenges and new chances to get better.
“At this stage, we have nothing to show for our effort throughout the season, we are really seeking revenge and want to get off to a cracking start.
“Hopefully it starts this weekend.”
The Griquas host the Golden Lions at 16:30 on Saturday afternoon at Tafel Lager Park.
