The Central University of Technology Ixias will be targeting back-to-back wins in the Varsity Cup when they tackle the NMU Madibaz on Thursday in round two.
Including their two last matches last year before the lockdown, the Ixias are on a three-match winning streak following their 46-13 win over UJ on Sunday.
The Ixias coach, Pieter Bergh, told OFM Sport that the Madibaz will take the positives from their defeat to the NWU Eagles.
“If you look at the Madibaz, it was their first game back in the Varsity Cup for quite a while.
“Against a tough Eagles team they did lose by 19 points but there is a lot of things that they will take from that game and build on.
“Nothing will change for us this week. We will be looking to put them under pressure in the set-piece and create opportunities for our back from there.”
This match at Loftus Versfeld will kick off at 15:00, while at 19:00 the Shimlas tackle the Eagles.
