The tournament was scheduled to get underway last week, however, was postponed by a week due to the teams from South Africa unable to travel to Europe to face teams from the North.

The action will get underway on Saturday afternoon when the Stormers tackle the Sharks at the Cape Town Stadium.

The Springbok and Stormers lock, Marvin Orie, told OFM Sport that the wait is finally over.

“There is a lot of jokes and batter between the boys.

“We've been training for a few weeks. The weekends are the highlight of what we do.

“We haven't really had that fun part of playing and competing on weekends for quite a few weeks now.

“We've had the training, but the guys feel that it is getting a bit too much now.

“So, everyone is really excited and pumped.”

The second match of the weekend will be a Juksie derby between the Bulls and Lions at Loftus Versfeld.

Saturday’s Rainbow Cup SA opener between the Stormers and Sharks kicks off at 14:00.
