The players move to Kimberley won’t be too much of an adjustment as he was schooled in Bloemfontein.
The Griquas coach, Scott Mathie, told OFM Sport that Du Plessis and the other new signings will add value.
“Zander du Plessis has had a stellar Varsity Cup. He is really great with the boot and the ball travels really nicely here in Kimberley, so we are looking forward to welcoming him here.
“He will be joined by the tighthead prop, Janu Botha, from the CUT Ixias.
“Janco Uys joined from the Bulls during the previous week, then we also have the Madibaz captain, Luyolo Dapula, joining us as well.”
Meanwhile, the Griquas open their Currie Cup campaign on 19 June against the Sharks at home.
