De Kock eager to learn from Pienaar─── MORGAN PIEK 16:40 Mon, 14 Jun 2021

The newly signed Toyota Cheetahs scrumhalf, Branden de Kock, is wanting to use the opportunity at the team to learn.
De Kock, who represented the University of the Western Cape on a one-year contract, linked up with the Cheetahs last week and featured in the Currie Cup warm-up against the Griquas last week.
De Kock told OFM Sport that for now the objective is to tap into the wisdom of the seasoned Springbok, Ruan Pienaar. De Kock also indicated that he is not just going to settle for the famous orange jersey.
“I'm very happy and lucky to be in the Cheetahs set-up and I'm also very excited about the Currie Cup which will be starting soon.
“Hopefully I can get quite a bit of game time and learn a lot from Ruan Pienaar and Tian Meyer.
“The main objective is basically for him to help and groom me to maybe become the next scrumhalf for the Cheetahs. Maybe even for the Springboks as well.
“So, I know that I can learn a lot from him.”
While the Currie Cup kicks off this weekend, the Cheetahs will have a bye before tackling the Griquas in Kimberley next weekend.
