The Toyota Cheetahs' focus will be on converting opportunities into points when they host the Bulls on Wednesday in round three of the Currie Cup.

The Cheetahs campaign got off to the worst possible start with a 31-10 defeat to the Tafel Lager Griquas in Kimberley.

To make matters even tougher, the Cheetahs are without their coach, Hawies Fourie, who is self-isolating.

Fourie did, however, say they need to get points on the board when the opportunity is there.

“We created a lot of chances in the first half and did not score tries or points. It was just a last pass or just another phase that had to be played, and then we made a mistake.

“We actually shot ourselves in the foot even before halftime by not going ahead further.

“Our attack in our opponents' 22m area is something that was a concern. We often had a scrum or a lineout there, but we didn’t get the points.

“So we will have to work hard on our attack within the area so that we are more efficient and that we make sure that we come away with points.”

Wednesday’s match at the Toyota Stadium kicks off at 16:45.
