The Springboks Sevens team returned to winning ways at the Olympic Games in Tokyo despite a late surge from Australia.
The Blitzboks beat the team from down-under 22-19 to advance to the 5th & 6th place play-off.
The Blitzboks led 17-0 at half time, but the Australians scored three second half tries to fall just short of the win.
Ronald Brown scored a brace of tries for South Africa while the captain Siviwe Soyizwapi and JC Pretorius each scored as well.
South Africa tackle the USA at 11:30 this morning in the 5th & 6th place play-off.
