The Griquas will head to Durban in high-spirits following their solid season which saw them ending third on the log, and possibly still being able to host a home final.

While the Sharks Tank has been a happy hunting ground for the Peacock Blues over the years’ they aren’t banking on past performances.

Griquas coach, Scott Mathie, told OFM Sport that the Sharks won’t be rolled over easily.

“There is a lot of excitement and I think that it's a privilege to play in a Currie Cup semi-final. Especially if you are from a smaller union.

“Not many guys from small unions get to get this far, so it's really a special occasion.

“We are under no illusions as what to expect from the Sharks. I'm sure they will be really pumped up for the game, just as we are.”

Saturday’s semi-final at Kings’ Park kicks off at 17:00.
