The 2021 Currie Cup final will be a repeat of last year’s championship match when the Bulls host the Sharks on Saturday at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

On Friday evening the Bulls breezed past Western Province with a 48-31 win to secure a home while.

On Saturday, the Sharks returned will ways with a hard-fought 28-24 victory over a determined Tafel Lager Griquas at Kings' Park in Durban.

Bulls coach, Jake White, says they want to be a force in all competitions, and this is being achieved through lesson learnt in the Rainbow as well as in the Currie Cup.

“We learnt a lot in Benetton, as a group, and the guys who played against Province in the first Currie Cup match also learnt a lot. They learnt that the competition is not that easy, even if you play at home. It’s not nice to lose twice in one weekend and we took the lessons onboard.

“I’m very happy with where we are as a group. We are relatively new as a group. We’ve been together for about a year and six months now. And some of these players, I can use Johan Goosen as an example, who has been with us for a short while.

“We are growing nicely. I think we are where we want to be. We can’t ask for anything better than playing a home final in the Currie Cup, having won it last season.

“But we also need to understand that we are going to have to improve a lot in the next couple of years if we want to be real contenders in all the competitions, we play in.”

Last year the Bulls beat Sharks 26-19 after added extra time to win the Currie Cup for a 24th time.

Saturday’s final in the capitol city kicks off at 17:00.
