The newly appointed University of the Free State Shimlas coach, André Tredoux, is excited about the move back to Bloemfontein after landing the job Tuesday.
For Tredoux is a back to his roots where his had a very successful career, especially with the Shimlas Young Guns.
Tredoux takes over from Pote Human who is off to coach in the USA.
Tredoux told OFM Sport that he couldn’t have asked to better support team, which includes Swys de Bruin and Tiaan Liebenberg.
Tredoux told OFM Sport that he is grateful to be able to return home and work at the club with a rich history.
“As a family we are truly humbled by this opportunity to come back home to Bloemfontein and take charge of the Shimlas. Nowadays it's a multi-dimensional team and I'm really excited to work with Swys de Bruin who is one of the best attacking coaches in the world. And, Tiaan Liebenberg, what a great addition that the university has made.
“I would like to thank top management at Shimla rugby and the university for the opportunity to be involved with a club with great history. We're really excited and looking forward to returning to Bloemfontein and to start the journey and make great young men at the Shimlas.”
Tredoux has previously also coached at Paarl Boys’ High, the Madibaz as well as in Japan and Russia.
