Mo'unga could return against the Boks─── MORGAN PIEK 07:40 Wed, 29 Sep 2021
The All Blacks flyhalf, Richie Mo'unga could be back in the mix this weekend for the final Rugby Championship fixture for 2021.
Mo'unga has could out of isolation and could ready to try and help the All Blacks to a Championship clean sweep.
Depending on his fitness levels following two weeks in isolation, Mo’unga could replace Beauden Barrett in the stating XV.
The All Blacks assistant Scott McLeod said they are impressed with what they’ve see so far.
“Richie was snappy and sharp and tried to lift the intensity, but we had to keep him under rein.
“He’s been inside for two weeks, has been working hard, but we need to assess where he’s at and what’s best for the team.”
McLeod added that there are areas of focus heading into the Test.
“They took a lot of it. So we weren't happy with our cleanout and ball-carry, so we've addressed that.
“Also, their line-speed does put us under pressure a little bit. In any defensive situation, there is always space somewhere. And our ability to see that space wasn't good enough. We need to see that a lot earlier.
“We created the opportunities but we need to see where that space is earlier so we can get the ball there," he said.
“The players have now seen that on tape, but we can't have another review looking at it on tape, we need to see that on the ground, so that's the improvement we want to see.”
Saturday’s Test at the Cbus Super Stadium in Gold Coast kicks off at 12:05.
