Bulls sweating over Goosen─── MORGAN PIEK 07:14 Mon, 11 Oct 2021
The Bulls are sweating over the fitness of the Springbok flyhalf, Johan Goosen, as they head into their last match on tour against Edinburgh in the United Rugby Championship.
The 29-year-old pivot injured his knee during the first half of the 29-19 win over the Cardiff Blues in Cardiff on Saturday evening.
The former Cheetah was helped off the park with what appeared to be an ACL injury and the coach, Jake White, said they are preparing for the worst.
“It's one of those. With a knee injury, the more sore it is, the more chance there is of an off ligament and stuff remaining intact and the rehab being quicker.
“But when it's off, you feel nothing. At the time when I asked him, Johan said he thinks it's not good news. I think he’s had some ACL injuries.
“One never knows. Maybe with the adrenaline that's still pumping, the disappointment, and where his head-space is, he's fearing the worst.
“Hopefully with the scans and all it's not as bad as we initially thought.”
This week, the Dragons host the Stormers, Ulster host the Lions, Edinburgh tackle the Bulls and Cardiff face the Sharks.
