Otto signs with the Griquas─── MORGAN PIEK 13:08 Thu, 14 Oct 2021

The exciting former University of Cape Town Ikeys flanker, Niel Otto, is excited to be in Kimberley after signing a contract with the Tafel Lager Griquas.
The player made a big impact earlier in the year for the Ikeys and was one of their standout players along with the likes of James Tedder who is and the Lions and Evardi Boshoff who is at the Toyota Cheetahs.
Otto himself was on the radar of the Cheetahs earlier this year but ultimately played some Currie Cup rugby at the Pumas.
Otto told OFM Sport that he is thankful for the opportunity given to him by the Peacock Blues.
“I'm very excited to be in Kimberley with the Griquas.
“They are a proud union and have all been a big part of South African rugby.
“They always make a big impact in the Currie Cup and I am very excited about the opportunity.
“Playing in the Currie Cup for the Pumas earlier in the year gave me the opportunity to test myself and see what it is all about being a professional player.”
Otto is one of eleven new players contracted by the new coach Pieter Bergh.
