The Toyota Cheetahs loose-forward, Jeandré Rudolph, is optimistic about making a return to the field in time for the 2022 Currie Cup which is expected to kick-off in mid-January.

The star player has been out of action for quite a few months due to a serious knee injury he sustained.

Rudolph required surgery to repair the damage and is currently still undergoing rehab.

Rudolph told OFM Sport that everything is still on track.

“I'm not out on the field running yet, but hopefully in the next coming weeks, I will be able to start doing that.

“I've got a check-up again with the doctor in November, and if he is happy and everything goes according to plan, I will probably be available to start playing again in January.

“So, at this point in time everything is going great.”

Meanwhile, the Cheetahs are set to return to the field next month in what is believed to be the Toyota Cup in Bloemfontein.

The Cheetahs are set to announce the inaugural tournament on Friday morning. It is believed that the tournament will feature the Cheetahs as well as the Sharks and two teams from overseas.

The latter are expected to be teams from Spain and one from Romania.
