The Cheetahs are battling with injuries in their back-three heading into the Toyota Challenge Cup with Clayton Blommetjies, Malcolm Jaer and Duncan Saal all out until next year.

Cheetahs coach, Hawies Fourie, told OFM Sport that Brandt has an opportunity to stake a claim at the team.

“Enver is a quality player and has played a lot of games for the Griquas over the past few years. He was previously at the Cheetahs, has a lot of speed and is a good finisher.

“We look forward to his contributions during the Challenge Cup. It will also be an opportunity for him to stake a claim and try and get a contract with us or someone else.

“It's a good opportunity for him and I am pretty sure that he will make the best of it.”

The Cheetahs tackle Zimbabwe on Saturday morning in Bloemfontein in a contact session. All of the fit an available players in the squad will get an opportunity to play on Saturday as the Cheetahs will be making use of two squads for the game.
