There is a team in South Africa again - Broos─── MORGAN PIEK 14:00 Mon, 15 Nov 2021
The Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, has lauded his team for their efforts despite being eliminated from the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
South Africa was on the brink of advancing to the third and final round of qualifying but were beaten by Ghana 1-0 on Sunday night, thanks to a very questionable penalty.
The defeat is the first that Bafana has had to endure since Broos took over as the coach earlier in the year.
Broos said the most important thing is that the national side has been rebuilt.
“When you see what we did in the last three months, I am very proud about my team.
“When you asked before the qualifiers what South Africa would do, nobody would tell you that we would be first in the group, before the last game.
“There is a team in South Africa again and that's very important.”
Under the guidance of Broos, Bafana has won ten games, drawn twice and lost just the once.
Meanwhile, SAFA has confirmed that they have officially lodged a complaint with both CAF and FIFA regarding the officials of last night’s game.
